Christopher L. Heffner

Dr.
Heffner holds a Bachelor's Degree in psychology and business
administration, a Master's in psychology, a Doctorate of
Psychology (Psy.D.) and Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D., ABD),
both in clinical psychology. He is licensed as a
psychologist in the State of Florida (PY6115) and is a member of
the Florida Psychological Association and the International
Society for Mental Health Online. He
has over 15 years experience as a clinician, five years in
mental health administration, and nearly eight years teaching
undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising students in
psychology and education. Since 1995, Dr.
Heffner has presented seminars on topics such as overcoming
depression, mastering focus and relaxation, anger management, communication, ethics,
online psychology, and
support for friends and families of the mentally ill. He
has also written several e-textbooks including Psychology
101, Personality Synopsis,
Statistic's Primer for the Social
Sciences
and Research Methods for
Education, Psychology, and the Social Sciences and published professional articles in peer reviewed journals. In
1992, as a means to learn more about the growing technologies in
cyberspace, Dr. Heffner began providing psychology and mental health
information via the Internet for both consumers and students.
Shortly after, he started using the Internet to supplement class
lectures and provide both course notes and links to further
readings online. Stemming from feedback of site visitors,
colleagues, and students, he founded AllPsych Online In 1999.
AllPsych has since grown to become one of the largest and most
referenced
psychology sites on the Internet. It is viewed by several
thousand unique visitors every day who have read more than three
million pages over the last year alone. AllPsych is also referenced by
over 90 colleges and universities in 14 countries, and has been cited by a
growing number of textbooks and professional organizations
around the globe. Along
with directing the daily operations of AllPsych, Dr. Heffner
teaches undergraduate and graduate coursework in education,
personality, assessment, statistics, and research methods utilizing both traditional and online formats. He
also has a small private practice where he focuses mostly on
treating mood and anxiety disorders as well as providing
consultation to local individuals and businesses on issues
related to technology,
