Koffka was associated with Gestalt Psychology, and is considerred on of its trhee founders (along with Max Wertheimer and Woldgang Kohler). He actually participated as a subject in Wertheimer's studies. I would suggest looking into Gestalt Psychology and the research with any of the three names listed above. Also, Koffka's major work 'Principles of Gestalt Psychology' (1935), if you can get your hands on it, would be an ideal source. Chapter 1 of this text can be found at the link below.
