09: Rank Ordered Table: Equal Scores + Rank Average

Rank Ordered Table

Scores are listed in order, and then assigned a ranking. Two or more equal scores are each given their rank average.

The raw score is 82, for example, occurs three times. If it has been three different scores, they would receive the ranks of 8,9, and 10. Since there are three of them, however, they each receive the average of the three scores:

(8+9+10)/3 = 27/3 = 9
