Constructs

  • Variables that can not be measured directly such as depression, intelligence, achievement, or attitude are called constructs.
  • IOW: They are constructed variables
  • Constructs present a unique problem to researchers because there is no agreed upon way to measure them. for example, a person’s intelligence can vary greatly depending on the measurement device or test used to assess it.
