Factorial ANOVA 2

  • The Main Effect of any experiment is the big picture. For example:
    • Does the new treatment work better than the two currently being used?
    • Which treatment has the largest mean?
  • Interaction Effects refer to the analysis of smaller group data and are very often more important than the main effect. For example:
    • Does the new treatment work better than the combination of both old treatments?
    • Does the new treatment work better than the other treatments for males and females?
    • Is there a age group that benefits most from one particular treatment?
