The data for an ANOVA might look similar to the following examples:

One Way Analysis of Variance with three means:

Sex	Treatment 1	Treatment 2	Treatment 3

M	85	70	70

Main Effect: There is a difference between the means for the three groups based on the one independent variable IOW: Treatment outcome varies depending on sex.

Interaction Effects: Females tend to do better with Treatment 3 and males tend to do better with Treatment 1
