16 – Experimental Methods




  • The purpose of statistics is to describe (1) what is happening now (Descriptive) or (2) determine what is probably happening or what is likely to happen in the future (Inferential)
  • Research is a standardized way to collect the data and present it so that it is easier to understand and easier to replicate
  • The are different ways to conduct research (called research methods), depending on the subjects, the variables, and the goals of the research.
