05: Factorial ANOVA 2: Main + Interaction Effects
Factorial ANOVA 2
- The Main Effect of any experiment is the big picture. For example:
- Does the new treatment work better than the two currently being used?
- Which treatment has the largest mean?
- Interaction Effects refer to the analysis of smaller group data and are very often more important than the main effect. For example:
- Does the new treatment work better than the combination of both old treatments?
- Does the new treatment work better than the other treatments for males and females?
- Is there a age group that benefits most from one particular treatment?
